Release Notes

Overview:

The Alpheios Tools are Firefox extensions that add functionality to the browser for reading and learning languages. The Beta release includes installable extension packages for Ancient Greek and Latin, as well as the "Alpheios Basic Libraries" package, which is required, and which contains functionality that is common across languages. The release also includes Enhanced Texts which have been specially prepared to support additional functionality in the Alpheios tools.

Demonstrations of the Alpheios tools are provided in the Tutorials. Documentation for all features is provided in the User Guide.

System Requirements:

• Firefox 3.x
• Windows XP or Vista, Linux, or Mac OS X
• See Known Issues for Windows 7

New In Beta 2 Release:

• The order of the buttons and menus Alpheios Toolbar have been reorded slightly.
• "Listen" feature is now available in the Alpheios Popup.

New In Beta 1 Release:

• Available for use with any HTML and Unicode compliant texts.
• Toolbar Lookup
• Personal Vocabulary Lists
• Sentence Diagram Features and Enhancements
• Support for Firefox 3.6
